Actress and content creator Ivana Alawi’s latest vlog is gaining attention for its focus on compassion after she featured a homeless man identified as Hesus Paraboles.
In the vlog, Ivana disguises herself as a pregnant woman in distress and roams the streets to see how people would respond. One of the first to notice her was Paraboles, who approached her while counting his remaining coins. With only ₱15 left to his name, he offered her ₱10 so she could buy food.
He did this without being asked, telling Ivana to eat and even suggesting she could request extra soup to stretch her meal. When Ivana invited him to join her, he politely declined, explaining that he preferred to walk alone.
During their conversation, he shared that he used to work as a mason but stopped after his tools were stolen. He also mentioned that he sleeps on the streets and manages day by day with whatever he earns or receives.
Moved by his gesture, Ivana immediately decided to help him. She brought him to buy clothes and essentials, but he gently refused some offers, saying he was used to his current routine and didn’t need much beyond food and simple clothing.
At one point, when a child passed by, he gave the child money as well—another spontaneous moment of generosity.
When Ivana asked why he shared what little he had, he said he simply didn’t want anyone to go hungry.
"Baka nagugutom. Mahirap magutom,” Paraboles said.
He also talked about praying for small things like bread or rice and feeling grateful whenever someone offered help.
“Ang Panginoon, palaging nakikinig at nanonood sa atin. Minsan ang dasal ko, sana magkaroon ako ng pambili ng pandesal. Nagdasal pa nga ako na bigyan ako ng bigas, pero hindi lang bigas ang ibinigay niya—may damit, may sapin, at may tsinelas pa,” Hesus said.
His name, Hesus, mirrors the very figure he prays to—Jesus Christ.
In an online post, Alawi appealed to her viewers and netizens to help locate anyone who may know Hesus Paraboles, who is said to be from Bicol and born on July 15, 1966, in hopes that he can be reconnected with family, friends, or people from his hometown.
