Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso announced that he will file his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) today, October 8, as he seeks to make a comeback in the race for mayor of the City of Manila.
"Samahan po ninyo akong muli. Let's make Manila great again! Dinidinig ko po ang panawagan ninyo, tatakbo po akong Mayor sa darating na halalan," Domagoso said on a Facebook post on Monday.
Domagoso will submit his Certificate of Candidacy at 8:30 AM, accompanied by his running mate, Chi Atienza, who is vying for the Vice Mayor position.
He remarked that his decision was driven by the significant demand from the people of Manila for him to lead the city again.
"Kita-kits tayo later 8:30am sa Arroceros Forest Park. KKB po tayo ah," said Domagoso.
Domagoso will be facing off against his former running mate and incumbent Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna, as well as TV host and party-list representative Sam Verzosa.
Domagoso and Lacuna previously stirred controversy when Lacuna expressed feeling betrayed by Domagoso's decision to run again. In response, Domagoso said, "Peace be with you."
