Magnitude 5.8 quake strucks Maconacon, Isabela

A magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck Maconacon in Isabela province on Thursday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has reported.
In a bulletin, the state seismologist stated that at about 8:49 am, the earthquake was strongly felt in the following areas in Northern Luzon:
- Intensity V: Peñablanca, Enrile, at Tuguegarao City, Cagayan
- Intensity IV: City of Batac, Ilocos Norte
- Intensity II: Pasuquin, Bacarra at Laoag, Ilocos Norte

Other areas that also felt the quake's intensities are as follows:
- Intensity V - Penablanca, Cagayan
- Intensity IV - Gonzaga, Cagayan
- Intensity III - Ilagan, Isabela
- Intensity II - Casiguran, Aurora; Pasuquin, Laoag City, Batac, Ilocos Norte; Vigan City, Ilocos Sur; Santiago City, Isabela; Tabuk, Kalinga; Madella, Quirino
- Intensity I - Bangued, Abra; Diapaculao, Baler, Aurora; Narvacan, Ilocos Sur; Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya
Following this, Phivolcs reported that 4.2 earthquake jolted anew Maconacon, Isabela at about 9:22 am, and was felt in Gonzaga, Cagayan and Ilagan, Isabela.
