The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) ordered the removal of three products from DALI Everyday Grocery products following the trademark infringement complaint filed by Nutri-Asia Inc.
Nutri-Asia Inc.’ legal counsel Cruz, Marcelo and Tenefrancia Law firm formally filed the complaint against DALI for the grounds of trademark infringement, unfair competition, and copyright infringement.
The three products in question are Kulina Banana Ketchup, Rajah Puro Vinegar, and Rajah Puro Soy Sauce. These have shown remarkable similarities to Nutri-Asia's UFC and Datu Puti products.
As a result, IPOPHL ordered the immediate pull-out of the products to the operators of DALI. Due to the injunction issued, DALI removed the products in their stores.
The IPOPHL is still waiting for the feedback from the legal affairs who handles the complaint, according to IPOPHL Director General Rowel Barba.
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) investigates possible unfair practices in DALI stores as part of their commitment to advocate for consumer protection.
