An expert in international studies on Sunday, September 24, suggested that the government restore the bilateral consultation between the Philippines and China.
In an interview with DZRH, Professor Rommel Banlaoi shared that based on his study, the mechanism has calmed the overall security situation in the West Philippine Sea (WPS).&nbsp;
&ldquo;Sa pag-aaral ko ng achievements ng bilateral consultative mechanism sa South China Sea, nakalma niya yung overall security situation sa West Philippine Sea. At kung magkaroon man ng mga insidente sa area na yun ay di siya defining moment. Kumbaga isolated situation lang,&rdquo; he elaborated.
Banlaoi also told DZRH that China&rsquo;s regular and undesirable actions have become isolated.
According to his observation, it allegedly started when the country expanded its Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) sites during the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
&ldquo;Ngayon di na isolated. Sa ngayon, sa pamamahala ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos, sa kasalukuyang sitwasyon, hindi na siya nagiging isolated incident. Nagiging regular occurrence na siya,&rdquo; he claimed.
