Pasakalye Concert will rock CCP Complex again, adding the amusing rhythm of Tugtog ng Aliwan as the Aliwan Fiesta 2024 kicks off this Thursday, June 27!
Interviewed during Inside Aliwan Fiesta 2024 on Tuesday, Production Head Johnny Faith Ivan Quilling expressed his excitement as the production team put great efforts into planning this year's Aliwan Fiesta.
"We're pretty much excited as always. This is a few months ahead of time we're trying to plan everything, we tried to look at options, are we gonna go back to starting the parade again in Qurino Grand Stand, all the way to Aliw, sino yung line up of artists ano yung konsepto, mayroon ba tayong ibalik, dati nang nagwowork tapos ngayon kailangan natin ibalik?," Quilling said.
At 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, Tugtog ng Aliwan, a drum and lyre competition, will take place, as participants will be marching up with the beat of the pride of their respective regions.
Quilling said Tugtog ng Aliwan started in 2017 but was later replaced by the Pasakalye Concert. However, Quilling idealized bringing back the event to emphasize the musicians of the Aliwan Fiesta contingents.
"Before we had to make a choice, pinalitan natin ang Pasakalye let's do Tugtog ng Aliwan, this year on our 21st year let's say why don't we just do something different and just put them all together," the production head said.
Meanwhile, star-studded artists Dilaw, Ryssi Avila, Arthur Miguel, Yes My Love, and Auxbeat will grace the stage for the Pasakalye Concert at 7:00 p.m. This year's hashtag for Pasakalye is #NowTrending.
As in previous years, Quilling said that MBC Media Group will not waver in giving happiness to Filipinos regardless of the rains that pass through. He said that the production is prepared for any circumstances that may occur.
"We start strong, we end strong. So obviously, on Thursday's event, we will do our best to make it to start strong and it would eventually be a take-off point, and on Saturday we'll gonna end it really strong," he remarked.
