The crowd at the Quirino Grandstand for the "National Rally for Peace" organized by the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) has reached an estimated 1.6 million as of Monday morning, January 13.
In a report by RH Boy Gonzales, it was mentioned that the data, based on the Manila Police District (MPD), was recorded as of 12:00 noon.
Some members are reportedly staying at Burnham Green Park in Luneta, while others are located along Roxas Boulevard, TM Kalaw, P. Burgos, Finance Road, Mabini, and U.N. Avenue.
According to MPD Director PBGen. Arnold Ibay, the influx of members is still ongoing, and the number of participants is expected to increase in the coming hours.
The program is officially set to begin at 4:00 p.m., but members started arriving early, waiting for the rally to commence.
Meanwhile, MPD Deputy District Director Col. Emil Tumibay stated that the situation at the Quirino Grandstand, where the members have gathered, remains peaceful and orderly.
As early as yesterday, some members who stayed overnight began flocking to the Quirino Grandstand.
