Bureau of Immigration (BI) Chief Commissioner Norman Tansingco assured that all foreign POGO workers will be deported within the next 60 days to comply with the country's total POGO ban.
This move is Immigration’s response to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.'s declaration during his State of the Nation Address (SONA), ordering a ban on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) in the country.
Tansingco insisted that all POGO workers, including Internet Gaming Licensees (IGLs), must leave the Philippines within the given time frame.
The immigration chair also stated that approximately 20,000 foreign workers are in the POGO industry, and the immigration office will process their departure from the Philippines.
The immigration office will also reject any pending visa renewal applications for foreign POGO workers.
Immigration has obtained a list of POGO workers employed in the country. In the event of non-compliance, the agency’s fugitive search unit is prepared to apprehend foreign POGO workers.
