Senator Imee Marcos on Monday advised his brother, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. to get mad at corrupt government officials during his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) slated later at 4 PM.
Gusto ko magwala na siya, pangalanan na lahat ng agricultural smuggler na nakakasira ng ating pagsasakang lokal," Marcos said in an ambush interview during the opening of the 19th Congress earlier this morning.
[As a super ate, I want Bongbong to be angry. I want him to be mad and name those agricultural smugglers who mess with our local farming.]
The President, who currently sits as the secretary of the Department of Agriculture (DA), previously warned smugglers that the government will go after them.
"Sana mahuli na niya at kasuhan lahat ng mga nasa gobyerno na kilalang-kilalang kurap sa BOC (Bureau of Customs), sa BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue), at sa iba’t iba pang mga ahensya," she continued.
[I hope he catches and charges all corrupt officials in the BOC, BIR, and other agencies.]
[I want him to be mad and truly say that criminals and those who trade in illegal drugs will be arrested.]
Imee said it is time to get angry and make sure to go after corrupt government officials and employees.
[I think it is time to get angry because it is no longer suitable and our countrymen are experiencing too much. Food prices have increased, and the fault lies in importers, cartels, and syndicates. Can we address this already?]
[The gasoline, those big corporations who do not pay excise taxes, arrest them.]
