Senator Imee Marcos agreed with Vice President and Department of Education Secretary Sara Duterte’s position about the reconsideration of granting amnesty and bringing back talks with communist groups.

Marcos said on Wednesday that she will be giving her statement when she is ready, but answered that she takes Duterte’s side regarding this matter.

With the speculations about the Vice President’s alliance with Uniteam headed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., right after her P650 million request fund for confidential and intelligence funds (CIF) for the 2024 national budget was disinvested, the senator said that the two can still remain allies despite disagreements on several issues.

The President’s sister added that the contradicting opinions only prove that every perspective is discussed, respected, and honored.

On Monday, Duterte released a video stating that she disagreed with the new peace efforts with the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP).
