Senator Imee Marcos bears no resentment after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. did not mention her name during last week’s rally for the administration's senatorial slate in Cavite and Laguna.

In his speech at the rally, President Marcos Jr. named 11 people of the slate, leaving out his sister from the list.

According to Senator Marcos, she is 'okay' with the situation and doesn't mind, as she is concentrating on the investigation into the arrest and transfer of former President Rodrigo Duterte to The Hague.

Furthermore, the Senator pointed out that she is steering clear of being caught in the conflict, should it result in further division between the two sides.

“Ngayon ‘yung tungkol sa rally, na hindi na ako binanggit, okay lang. Tiisan tayo total wala akong magawa total sinabi ko naman mula’t sapul baka mauwi ito sa away-away ng dalawang panig,” said Marcos.

“Ayokong maipit,” she firmly stated.

However, Marcos clarified that she has not officially left from the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas. She stated that she is unaware of the situation and hasn’t had the chance to ask the President, as they have not been in contact.

“Hindi na kami nag-uusap, matagal na… Maraming nakapaligid sa kanya na humaharang sa aming mag-usap,” said the Senator.

She further emphasized that from the very beginning, she has already declared her intention to run as an independent candidate in the 2025 midterm elections.

Marcos has also voluntarily skipped campaign sorties, stating that she will only attend those where she knows the local leaders or hosts personally.

She reiterated that the case of Duterte at the International Criminal Court (ICC) is more important than the elections, the campaign, or even politics, as it supposedly concerns the sovereignty of the country.

In the wake of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations' investigation, led by Marcos, she noted that preliminary findings on Duterte’s arrest could be released soon, but more in-depth study is required before issuing any recommendations.
