Senator Imee Marcos clarified that the news about her shifting to the Minority bloc in the Senate is merely a result of playful banter among senators.
This statement came after her criticisms of some policies implemented by her brother, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s administration.
"I'm a solid admin. I'm only here to protect the president and the family name. We fought hard and long for this and we're deeply invested in making certain that the Marcos administration should wok," the Senator clarified.
Having waited for 36 years to return to a position of power, Imee said she aims to avoid any disruptions during the Marcos Jr.'s administration.
She admitted that they do not currently have regular communication with the President. However, they do meet during family affairs and official functions.
Despite being perceived as a member of the opposition, Imee explained that her focus is on ensuring government agencies work effectively to fulfill the President's promises in his SONA.
