The religious organization Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) will be holding a massive rally against the impeachment case filed against Vice President Sara Duterte.
This was announced during a program in NET25, a media arm of INC, where it was stated that the organization supports President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s stance against impeaching the Vice President. The President suggested that the government should focus on the country's progress and development.
The INC reaffirmed its principle of peace and expressed opposition to any unrest that may arise from the issue.
Subardiaga also mentioned that preparations for the nationwide rally are already underway, with large gatherings being organized to support the President's position of "no to impeachment" against the Vice President.
It should be noted that VP Duterte is currently facing two impeachment complaints. These include allegations of misuse of confidential funds from the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education, as well as an alleged "threat" to President Marcos and his family.
Earlier this week, the first impeachment complaint was filed by civil society organizations, led by former Senator Leila de Lima, and endorsed by Akbayan party-list Representative Percival Cendaña.
A second impeachment complaint was filed by lawmakers from Makabayan bloc before the House of Representatives on Wednesday, citing betrayal of public trust over the alleged misuse of PHP 612.5 million in confidential funds.
