The 2024 Aliwan Fiesta started with a bang through the Tugtog ng Aliwan, a drum and lyre competition.

Nine contingents, representing different festivals, competed and showed energetic performances to signal the start of the three-day festival in the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) grounds.

Dinagyang Festival came out on top in the competition. The delegation from Iloilo City snagged the grand cash prize worth Php 100,000 and an additional Php 25,000 courtesy of Bingo Plus.

Tultugan Festival of Maasin, Iloilo placed second in the tournament while Meguyaya Festival finished in third place
