Matutina, one of the Philippine's seasoned comedians, passed away on Friday, February 14. She was 78.
According to reports, her daughter Sheila Guerrero confirmed the news, citing that the veteran comedienne had succumbed to acute respiratory failure.
Evelyn Bontogon-Guerrero, commonly known as Matutina, began her career voice acting for radio dramas. She eventually shifted to on-screen acting, taking part in the 1970s television sitcom, “John en Marsha.”
The show starred the late comedy legend, Dolphy and Nida Blanca, while Matutina played the role of Doña Delilah’s helper.
Despite the transition, Matutina was still known for her distinctive voice and impeccable comedic timing. She’s known to popularize iconic catchphrases like “Et cetera, et cetera” and “tseke mo o tseke ko?”
