House Speaker Martin Romualdez filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) on Tuesday, October 1, at the provincial office of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in Tacloban City, Leyte.
Romualdez seeks to win another term as the representative of the First District of Leyte in the upcoming 2025 elections.
"Ang patuloy na suporta ng ating mga kababayan ang inspirasyon ko upang ipagpatuloy ang ating nasimulan. Isa pong malaking karangalan ang magsilbi sa Leyte at sa buong bansa," Romualdez said.
Leyte Gov. Jericho Petilla, Vice Gov. Leonardo Javier, and 2nd District Rep. Karen Javier accompanied Romualdez, who will run under the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats Party, in filing his COC.
Romualdez currently serves his second term as representative of the first congressional district of Leyte.
His son, Ferdinand Martin Romualdez Jr., also filed his COC, and will run for councilor in Tacloban City, in the mid-term polls.
