The House quad-committee is confident that the Tarlac court will grant its request to have Alice Guo invited to the committee’s next hearing on Thursday, September 12.
Surigao del Norte 2nd District Representative Robert Ace Barbers noted that they may call on Guo to attend and participate in the next quad-committee hearing.
Barbers said that Guo's appearance will be scheduled alongside the other resource persons, Cassandra Li Ong and former presidential spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque at the next quad-committee hearing.
"Ang plano namin dyan, pagsasabayin namin sa pagharap itong si Cassandra Ong, Alice Guo, Atty. Harry Roque at iba pang personalidad," Barbers said during an exclusive interview with DZRH for Isyung Pambayan on Sunday.
Barbers explained that Guo possesses valuable information that could assist not only with the investigation into the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) operations in Tarlac but also with other POGOs in the country.
Additionally, Barbers stated that they are open to considering Guo as a state witness, but this will depend on the information she reveals.
"Kailangan magbigay sila ng mga pangalan. Ituro nila sino ang nasa likod nito, at sa interes ng ating bansa, ituro rin nila kung sino ang tumutulong sa kanila rito, sino ang nag-enable sa kanila rito, sino ang kanilang koneksyon," said Barbers.
According to the commitment order issued by the Regional Trial Court of Capas, Tarlac Branch 109, Guo will remain in the custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center.
The Tarlac RTC has already approved the Senate's request to have Guo attend the hearing scheduled for tomorrow, September 10.
