A proposed measure to give two days of menstruation leave a month to female employees in both the public and private sectors has been pushed to the House of Representatives.

Under House Bill 6728, authored by Cotabato Representative Alana Samantha Talio Santos, it seeks to provide leave with pay but only half of the daily salary.

According to the lady solon, the concept of menstrual leave benefit is no longer new as it is already provided in some countries such as Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Zambia.

The proposed bill allows every woman, excluding those who are pregnant and already in menopause, to be granted the said leave.
