Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy has been summoned by the House Committee on Legislative Franchises to appear in a hearing regarding the legislative franchise of Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) next month.
Based on subpoena ad testificadum dated February 13 but released on February 19, Quiboloy is directed to testify under oath relative to the alleged franchise violations and franchise revocation of SMNI, whose legal operating name is Swara Sug Media Corporation.
"Please be advised that failure to comply with this Order will constrain the Committee to resort to Section 11 of the Rules of Procedure Governing Inquiries in Aid of Legislation of the House of Representatives on the power of contempt," the subpoena reads.
The hearing is scheduled for March 12, 1 PM, at the Congress' press conference room.
The document was signed by House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Committee Chairperson Gus Tambunting, and attested by House Secretary General Reginald Velasco.

It can be recalled that the self-proclaimed "Appointed of God", who is said to be SMNI's honorary chairman, did not show up in the House hearing last February 7.
House lawmakers approved the motion to summon Quiboloy for him to answer the inquiries about the broadcast media's operations.
The Lower House released the copy of the signed subpoena on the same day that Senate issued its subpoena against Quiboloy, who is facing human trafficking, rape, sexual abuse, and violence allegations.
