The House Committee of the Whole has adopted Resolution of Both Houses (RBH) 7 which seeks to lift the restrictions in certain economic provisions of the Philippine 1987 Constitution.
RBH7, first introduced and filed by Congressmen Aurelio 'Dong' Gonzales, David 'Jay-jay' Suarez, and Manuel Jose 'Mannix' Dalipe, was approved after six days of deliberation.
"The committee report of the committee of the whole regarding Resolution of Both Houses No. 7 is hereby adopted," Dalipe announced after the majority of committee members gave an affirmative vote.
Only Makabayan bloc members, Gabriella Women's Party Rep. Arlene Brosas, ACT Teachers Party-List Rep. France Castro, and Kabataan Party-List Rep. Raoul Manuel, manifested their opposition.

The RBH7 is similar to RBH6 filed by senators as it also proposed to amend articles focusing on general principles, public utilities, education, and advertising.
The approved RBH7 is now set to be deliberated in plenary next week.
House Deputy Majority Leader Neptali Gonzales III bared that they aim to approve RBH7 in the second and third reading.
"We will perhaps have a short break to distribute the same and once we resume, we will attempt to approve the committee report so that it will be reported out on second reading next week," he told reporters in an interview.
