A House of Representatives panel on Monday passed a resolution calling for the conduct of a constitutional convention (con-con) to amend or revise the 1987 Constitution.
During the House Committee on Constitutional Amendments' hearing, sixteen lawmakers voted in favor of passing the resolution.
Three solons were against it and only one abstained.

The panel is set to convene again to discuss the House bill implementing the approved resolution.
Earlier, President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. pronounced that charter change (cha-cha-) is not his administration's priority.
His rejection comes after Senator Robinhood "Robin" Padilla, chairman of the Senate committee on constitutional amendment, pushed for a Constituent Assembly (Con-Ass) to change the economic provision in the Constitution.
