Senator Risa Hontiveros called out Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy to come out of hiding and face the Senate.
Quiboloy is now considered a fugitive by the authorities after failing to locate him after the issuance of an arrest warrant against him by a Davao Court.
In a statement, Hontiveros told Quiboloy to come out since he has already given statements through an interview conducted by vloggers, adding that he should also give an interview in the Senate.
The senator also said that the audio files could not hide his fear that the truth has been revealed, referring to the KOJC leader’s latest remarks, which were made through an audio recording posted on a YouTube channel.
According to the fugitive pastor, based on the audio files, he would choose to die rather than be arrested alive by the authorities, saying that he would only surrender with a condition that the American authorities would not get involved in his case.
Quiboloy then continued to hit Hontiveros for leading “bogs hearings” of the Senate committee on women on alleged abuses committed against former KJC members.
As a counterattack, Hontiveros slammed Quiboloy, saying that he has no right to tarnish the Senate’s institution and its mandate, and also asking him to repeat everything he said about the Senate.
The KOJC leader has been included in the most wanted list of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation for sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion, sex trafficking of children, and bulk cash smuggling.
Regardless of Quiboloy’s absence, Hontiverso strongly said that the Senate probe will continue.
