The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said there was over 90% voter turnout in the plebiscite on the establishment of two more barangays in Marawi City.
"Maayos po ang sitwasyon at sa ating pagtaya ay aabot ng mahigit 90 porsyento ang voter turnout base sa dami ng mga botante na ating nakita sa mga presinto," Comelec Chairman George Garcia said in a tweet after visiting voting centers.
There were over 1,400 voters from two barangays that participated in the referendum.
The majority of the residents in barangays have agreed to divide Barangay Boganga in the creation of Barangay Boganga II, and Barangay Datu Dadiligan be established from the existing Barangay Sagonsongan.
There were 992 registered voters out of 6,320 residents in Barangay Boganga while 480 registered voters out of 7,137 residents.
