Comedian-turned-beauty queen Herlene Budol has apologized for the way she acted during the question-and-answer portion of the Miss Grand International competition 2023 press presentation.
Budol recently drew flak for being playful in answering the question of an interviewer.
"Sa sobrang kaba ko po, hindi ko po naexplain yung kung anong gusto ko pong sabihin. Sorry, I admit hindi ako magaling sa lahat ng bagay," she said during her Facebook live on Thursday.
Budol downplayed the claims that she "dog showed" or she made fun of the serious matter.
"Hindi ko po nilaro, 'di ko lang po talaga na-gets 'yung tanong and I accept it," she clarified.
"Hindi po ako perpekto," Budol stressed.
Despite the ired comments she received, the 23-year-old Beauty queen extended her gratitude for those who believed in her.
She then vowed to do her best to make those people who she let down proud of her.
During the Q&A portion, an interviewer acknowledged that among the global beauty contenders, Budol has millions of followers on social media platforms.
And so, the interviewer asked her "Apart from your big social media following, what else have you got in order to win the crown?"
Budol playfully responded "Thank you for that looong question for me… chariz.. I have a big followers because I have a big heart… O English yon, ha? Nakapag-compose po ako kaagad."
She then asked the interviewer to repeat the question.
When the question was translated to Tagalog, Budol answered that her fearlessness is her asset to win.
"At bilang isang Miss Grand, sisimulan ko sa aking experience na ipalaganap sa ibang tao na huwag matakot. Kahit anong pinagdaanan ng mga taong laging nakangiti, may katuturan yon at ikaw yung magiging lakas ng ibang tao para maging lakas," she remarked.
Budol finished as 1st runner-up in Binibining Pilipinas 2022, representing the Philippines at the Miss Grand International.
The 11th edition of the Miss Grand International pageant will be held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on October 25.
