Several parts of Central and Southern Luzon will continue to experience moderate to heavy rain due to the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
In its 2 pm heavy rainfall warning advisory, the state weather bureau raised a yellow warning on the following areas in Luzon:
- Quezon (San Antonio, Tiaong, Candelaria, Dolores, Sariaya, Lucban, Tayabas, Lucena, Sampaloc, Mauban, Pagbilao, Atimonan, Padre Burgos, Agdangan)
- Cavite
- Laguna
- Batangas
Possible flooding may occur in low-lying areas and near river channels.
Meanwhile, light to moderate with occasional heavy rain will affect the following areas:
- Metro Manila (Las Pinas, Paranaque, Pasay, Taguig, Muntinlupa)
- Rizal (Binangonan, Cardona, Pilila, JalaJala, Morong, Baras, Tanay, Angono, Teresa)
- Bataan
In its 4 am advisory, the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
PAGASA also warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Classes in Metro Manila and in Cavite have been suspended due to the heavy rains brought by the Habagat.
