The vaccine expert panel is awaiting the application of COVID-19 vaccine makers for the booster vaccination of the pediatric age group 5 to 11 years old.
According to Dr. Nina Gloriani, a member of the vaccine experts panel, they are waiting for the application for the emergency use authorization (EUA) of the other vaccine makers. She made the statement after the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) allowed Pfizer to be administered as a booster shot for the said age group.
Gloriani explained if there are no companies that will send their application in the Philippines there will be no booster vaccination for the 5 to 11 age group.
It was on February 7 when the government rolled out the COVID-19 vaccination for the 5 to 11 age group with the Pfizer vaccine.
Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje previously announced that in order for them to vaccinate more children, they will need to install vaccination posts in public and private schools.
