The Philippines’ annual pride parade and festival in Quezon City is happening on June 28!
On Wednesday, April 2, Pride PH, a non-profit organization, announced on its social media pages that LOV3LABAN 2025 will take place on June 28.
“Mas MATAPANG at mas MASAYANG LABAN para sa LOVE! 🏳️🌈 PUKSAAN NA!” their caption read.
However, details like the time, venue, and performers have yet to be disclosed. Event goers expect the event to be held at the Quezon City Memorial Circle, like its previous editions. The place was also tagged on the organization’s Instagram post.
In 2024, the Love Laban 2 Everyone took place on June 22, with big stars like Marina Summers, Vice Ganda, BINI, and others set to perform. However, due to the inclement weather, the celebration was cut short.
Despite this, the event garnered around 228,000 attendees nationwide and became the biggest pride in Asia.
“Sa kabila ng lahat ng mga hamon, tumindig pa rin tayo para sa Pride at sa ating komunidad. Dahil sa inyong lahat, tayo na ang BIGGEST Pride sa buong Asia,” they said in an Instagram post.
The organization’s ultimate goal is to push for the passage of the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Expression (SOGIE) Bill.
“228,000 na boses na iisa ang sigaw, ipasa ang #SOGIEEqualityBill. Ito ang lakas ng ating love. Ito ang lakas ng ating laban,” Pride PH wrote.
Protest, not a Concert
Following the announcement, netizens quickly reminded the public that the Pride march is meant to be a protest, not a concert. This, however, does not mean that they want the celebration of Pride Month to be exclusive to members of the LGBTQIA+. Netizens clarified that the real purpose of the Pride event is to advocate for the rights of the queer community.
To prevent overcrowding, one comment suggested avoiding publicly announcing the guest lineup, citing that some attendees may not genuinely support the members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
