Former Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque took to social media to air his sentiments over Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) Spokesperson Dr. Winston Casio's interview in DZRH Dos Por Dos segment on Thursday.
"Nanawagan ako sa tagapagsalita ng Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) na itigil na ang pagbibigay ng media interview," Roque said in his official statement.
Roque appealed to put an end to what he referred to as a 'baseless trial by publicity' that is aimed to discredit him in court of public opinion.
Harry Roque stated that he has requested the PAOCC to submit their evidence to the Prosecutor's Office. He also noted that, even without examining the evidence, the case against him is entirely without merit, as trafficking involves recruiting individuals through force or intimidation for the purpose of exploiting their labor.
"Mayroon ba akong ni-recruit, pinilit o tinakot para magtrabaho sa Porac?" Roque questioned.
"Malinaw pa sa sikat ng araw na wala silang matibay na ebidensiya laban sa akin. No such evidence exists other than what the Department of Justice Secretary said was my professional relationship with Cassandra Ong," he added.
PAOCC Spokesperson mentioned during an exclusive interview with DZRH that the agency is eyeing to file qualified trafficking in person, a non-bailable case, against Harry Roque.
"Lawyering is not a crime, kaya lang 'pag may participation na 'acts promoting trafficking in person' you become a party to the crime," Casio said.
Roque is also subject to an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) as he is considered a person of interest and may potentially face charges based on the evidence held by the PAOCC.
Casio stated that they are currently finalizing the complaint against the former presidential spokesperson and expect to file it within 2 to 3 weeks.
