President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. has appointed Hans Leo Cacdac as the officer-in-charge of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
His appointment was announced by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Wednesday, September 7.
Cacdac will be succeeding DMW Secretary Susan 'Toots' Ople who passed away at the age of 61 on August 22.
He presently serves as DMW Undersecretary for Welfare and Foreign Employment.
Before his appointment in the DMW, Cacdac served as administrator of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
He also worked in the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) where he was undersecretary for labor relations and the appointment, and in the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) where he was deputy administrator for licensing and adjudication.
Aside from Cacdac, the President appointed Jennifer Pia Las as chairperson of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Meanwhile, Jose Lim IV was tapped as the assistant secretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
