The Southwest Monsoon, or habagat will bring cloudy skies and rain in several parts of Luzon and Visayas on Thursday, August 3, according to PAGASA.

The state weather bureau said it continues to monitor Typhoon Khanun, formerly called Falcon, which was seen outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), about 715 kilometers north-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.

Typhoon Khanun is packing maximum sustained winds of 155 km per hour (kph) near the center and is moving west-northwestward at a speed of 10 kph.

Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan will have occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon. These areas may experience flooding or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.

Cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon will be experienced in Metro Manila, the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Cagayan Valley, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and the rest of Central Luzon.

Flash floods or landslides as a result of moderate to occasionally heavy rains are possible in the aforementioned areas.

Due to habagat and localized thunderstorms, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rain showers or thunderstorms.

Strong thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides.
