The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) on Friday, Nov. 3 offered car insurance for government employees, retirees, and pensioners

“Ang GSIS minandato po na mag-insure ng lahat ng property at interest ng pmahalaan, kaya bukod sa institutional clients, napagusapan natin na kailangan din protektahan ng GSIS ang mga kawani ng pamahalaan at kanilang mga pag-aari. Kaya isinama na rin namin sa coverage ang GSIS pensioners at retiree,” GSIS President and General Manager Jose Arnulfo “Wick” Veloso said in an episode of GSIS Ginhawa For All.

The GSIS motor vehicle insurance was applicable for active GSIS members, retirees, or pensioners along with their spouses, children, and parents.

“Full car insurance coverage at kasamang protection against damages na resulta ng aksidente, pagnakaw at acts of nature katulad ng bagyo, baha, lindol at iba pang natural disaster,” the GSIS chief said.

“Ang qualified po ay lahat ng sasakyan na ginagamit for private use basta nasa good running condition,” he added.

The state pension fund welcomes every government employee to have their respective motor vehicles insured under GSIS, but underscored the following requirements prior to application:

• Accomplished application form

• Photocopy of the certificate of registration (CR) and latest official receipt (OR) from LTO

• If brand new, photocopy of sales invoice

• If mortgaged, bank financing contract

• If pre-owned, notarized deed of absolute sale and old insurance policy

• Proof of relationship to member/pensioner/retiree, PSA-certified birth certificate

• Photo of 4 sides of vehicle

“Ngayon po ay maaari na mag-file ng GSIS motor vehicle insurance claim, mag-submit ng requirement, at ma-monitor ang status ng claim ninyo using your smartphone. Ito’y sa pamamagitan ng GSIS Touch. Kaya pinapayuhan ko ang lahat ng GSIS member, pensioner, at retiree, na mag-register sa GSIS Touch,” Veloso said.
