

An 18-year-old Grade 12 student from Kalayaan town, Laguna had allegedly died due to hazing by the Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity on Sunday.
According to a report from the Kalayaan police, the victim identified as Reymarc 'RR' Rabutazo has undergone initiation rites by Tau Gamma Fraternity at the mountainous part of Twin Falls, Brgy San Juan, Kalayaan, Laguna.
He was rushed to a hospital in the municipality of Pakil where he was declared dead on arrival.
The report also cited that bruises were seen on the victim's thighs due to hazing and some cigarette burns in his chest.
Meanwhile, RR's mother Maricar condemned the alleged hazing and sought justice for the death of his son, who initially told his grandmother early Sunday morning that he will go out with his friends.
A video of the alleged hazing was also uploaded on social media.
Two fraternity officials have been presented for the inquest at the prosecutor's office in the province for homicide and violation of anti-hazing law charges.
Seven other members will also face raps over the incident.
The local police have recovered the paddle used in the incident that will serve as evidence in the case.
