To celebrate his 67th birthday, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. promised on Friday, September 13, that the national government will shoulder all the expenses of patients in Level 3 public hospitals.
The Chief Executive made the announcement during the launching of the Agri-Puhunan at Pantawid Program in Guimba, Nueva Ecija.
"Layunin din po namin na matulungan ang ating mga kababayan na may pangangailangang medikal," President Marcos said.
"Kaya sa araw na ito, sasagutin natin ang lahat ng bayarin ng mga pasyente sa lahat ng pampublikong Level 3 hospital sa bansa katulad ng Dr. Paulino Garcia Memorial Hospital dito sa inyo," he added.
The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) expounded that the national government will pay for the medical needs of all people confined and undergoing treatment in Level 3 public hospitals.
The PCO also said that the Department of Health allocated Php 328 million to 22 tertiary hospitals in order to fulfill the promise of President Marcos Jr.
"Kaya’t masarap itong birthday ko. Hindi lang ako maraming regalo, marami rin akong naireregalo. Ito ‘yung blowout," President Marcos remarked.
"Asahan niyo na sa Bagong Pilipinas, walang maiiwanan sa pagsulong. Lahat ay mabibigyan ng pagkakataon na maging masagana ang kanilang pamumuhay," he added.
