The continuous heavy rains and winds brought by Typhoon Goring drove more than 14,000 individuals in six regions to flee from their homes, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Tuesday.
Based on its latest situational report, a total of 4,049 families or an estimated 14,856 individuals are taking shelter inside the 154 evacuation centers in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabazron, Mimaropa, Western Visayas, and Cordirella Administrative Region (CAR).
On the other hand, about 2,628 families or 10,116 individuals are staying outside the evacuation centers.
Authorities have pre-emptively evacuated 152 families or 655 individuals in Ilocos, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa.
The NDRRMC said the affected individuals reached a total number of 19,370 families or 63,565 individuals.
As of this posting, there are 29 roads and 20 bridges that are not accessible to motorists in Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Mimaropa, Western Visayas, and CAR.
Two areas are experiencing water interruption while seven cities are facing power disruption.
The agency also reported that four motorbancas, 13 vessels, and 145 passengers are stranded in various ports in Calabarzon.
Twenty-eight houses were purportedly damaged in Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Mimaropa, Western Visayas, and CAR. Of which, 15 houses sustained partial damage and 13 were totally destroyed.
Six infrastructures in Cagayan Valley, Mimaropa, and CAR were damaged, amounting to the cost of P41.75 million.
The NDRRMC remained under red alert level status due to Goring.
Nine areas are still under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) as typhoon Goring maintains its strength over the Philippine Sea, according to PAGASA's 11 AM update.
Goring is forecasted to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.
However, the state weather bureau said Tropical Storm Haikui slightly intensified outside PAR and may enter the country on Wednesday.
