DZRH, the first ever radio station in the country, has been recognized as the Best AM Radio Station of the Year at the prestige Gintong Parangal Awards held at the Grand Ballroom of Okada Manila Hotel last Saturday, August 19.
DZRH’s Damdaming Bayan anchors, Lakay Deo Macalma and Elaine Apit, popularly called as "Sister L", also bagged the Best Tandem News Anchor of the Year award.

"Ito’y lalong naging aming inspirasyon para lalo pa naming pagbutihin ang aming pagbibigay serbisyo sa pamamagitan ng pagbabalita," said Lakay Deo in an interview.
"Thank you so much sa mga sumusuporta sa amin ni Lakay, sa Damdaming Bayan, at itong parangal na ito ay magsisilbing inspirasyon namin para mas pagbutihin pa ang pagbibigay serbisyo sa publiko," Sister L dded.
Some renowed personalities in different industries were also honored, such as Michelle Vito, Enzo Piñeda, Meiji Cruz, Elizabeth Oropeza, Marc Pingris, Maui Taylor, Joel Cruz, and many more.
Lakay Deo and Sister L expressed their gratitude to their listeners and viewers, and promised to give them continuous public service.
Meanwhile, Gintong Parangal President Lito Buan acknowledged the hardships of all the awardees, noting that they deserve to experience such spectacular event.
"Yung ibang mga kababayan natin galing pa ng malalayong lugar, syempre kahit sino gusto makaexperience ng red carpet, makita naman nila ang Okada," he said.
The Gintong Parangal is a Filipino award-giving body that recognizes various individuals and organizational contributions toward the attainment of a better quality of life.
