Gilas Women routs Hong Kong

The Gilas Pilipinas Women began the 2023 FIBA Under-16 Women's Asia Championship with a rout of Hong Kong, 79-40, on Monday, July 10, in Amman, Jordan.
Ava Fajardo scored 17 points and Ryan Kelly Nair added 12 points for the Filipinas who went up by 41 points at most.
The Philippines never felt threatened after limiting Hong Kong to only nine points in the second quarter, and grabbing a 17 point lead, 37-20, a the end of the first half.
Tsz Ching Kam finished with 14 points and Yan Ting Tai registered 11 points as they paced Hong Kong in their opening match in the Divison B of the 2023 FIBA Under-16 Women's Asia Championship.

The Filipinas will face Maldives on Tuesday, July 11, as they continue their campaign to advance to Division A.
