Actor Gil Cuerva has broken his silence on the controversy surrounding an intimate video linked to him, emphasizing that it was recorded without his knowledge or consent.
On Thursday, March 5, Cuerva shared an official statement on his Instagram, emphasizing that this would be his only public comment on the matter.
“Hey everyone. I just want to briefly address the issue that had circulated online over the past few days. This will be the only time I speak about it, and I will not be commenting any further after this,” he said.
Cuerva explained that the video was captured during a private moment without his permission.
“The video being shared online was recorded without my knowledge or consent during a private moment. The use of a hidden camera and the distribution of that recording are serious violations of my privacy and constitute a crime,” he added.
Despite the distressing situation, Cuerva expressed gratitude for the support he received from family and friends.
“Thank you to my friends and family who reached out with support during this time, and thank you to those who spoke up to defend my name,” he said, assuring fans that he is doing well.
He added, “I'm okay, I'm fine, and life goes on.”
Before Cuerva’s statement, his former girlfriend, actress Lexi Gonzales, publicly defended him against, condemning the spread of manipulated content and false information.
“Regardless of what happened between us, people shouldn’t try to ruin a person’s integrity by spreading malicious and illegal content about them. Mahiya naman kayo. You guys should have some DIGNITY & RESPECT,“ she replied to a netizen in a now-deleted posts on Threads.
“Disgusting how some people are like flies who flock on other people’s dirty laundry. You guys are absolute scum of the Earth. Spreading false information and manipulated content of someone is punishable by law. Kadiri kayo. Repulsive. You wouldn’t know what that means kasi nothing disgusts you,” she said.
