The newly-appointed Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian on Wednesday assured the public that he will prioritize settling the list of the agency's beneficiaries.

“May bagong technology. We just have to make sure na maayos ‘yung listahan. So ayan ang priority one natin, siguraduhin na tama ‘yung listahan,” Gatchalian said.

Gatchalian said his office will use digitalization in order to fix issues in the long list.

“We have to start off with the list. ‘Yung list kasi marami ‘yan eh, meron list from PSA, may list from NEDA, may list from DSWD,” he said.

Meanwhile, he also clarified that there will be no restructuring in the department.

“Ako, klaro, I plan to work with the existing bureaucracy. May talento, may puso ‘yung mga nasa DSWD,” Gatchalian said.
