Senator Sherwin Gatchalian stood firm on Thursday that the document he obtained with the name "Guo Hua Ping" is suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo.
Interviewed during Dos Por Dos, Gatchalian said he is convinced that the picture on the passport-stamped document is Guo, who has a similar face.
"Kumbinsido ako na si Guo Hua Ping ay si Alice Guo. Tingnan lang 'yung litrato ay hawig na hawig. Pangalawa, kadugtong ng dokumento ay may application ang kaniyang pamilya," said Gatchalian.
According to Gatchalian, the address of Lin Wen Yi, whom he suspected was Guo's mother rather than Amelia Guo, is the same as the address she wrote in the incorporation papers in Valenzuela City.
Furthermore, Gatchalian said Guo could not provide details about her birth and elementary school because she was in China when she was still 13 years old.
Gatchalian earlier claimed Guo might have entered the Philippines on January 12, 2003.
"Hindi siya dumaan sa naturalization process, ang ginawa ng kaniyang ama nagsinungaling sa late registration at ibinigay ang mga pekeng detalye," the senator said.
"Kaya namin pinalawak ang investigation dahil maraming gumagamit sa late registration para makakuha ng Filipino citizenship," he added.
On Tuesday, Gatchalian presented a record from the Board of Investments of the Guo family's application for a Special Investors Resident Visa (SIRV) and the Bureau of Immigration.
The document was issued on April 3, 1999, by the People's Republic of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Fujian.
Guo Hua Ping, a student born on August 31, 1990, is identified in the document by control number 14-5679410. "2003.04.04" was stamped on the document as the "date of registry."
Guo's camp defended
On its part, Guo's legal counsel, Atty. Stephen David denied the allegations of the senator.
"Hindi siya [Alice Guo] 'yun, sinasabi niya hindi siya yun. Ibang-iba 'yung itsura at hindi niya kilala kung sino 'yun," David said.
"Kung sino yung nag-alledge niyan, patunayan nila kung sino 'yun. Sa batas natin mayroon presumption of innocence, sila magpatunay," he added.
David noted that showing such private documents, including statements of assets, liabilities, and net worth (SALN), is prohibited under the Data Privacy Act.
The lawyer said they are determined to file charges once they discover who published the aforementioned document.
It can be recalled when Guo claimed that she was her father's love child and their former helper Amelia, who allegedly left her when she was a child.
Upon checking the records, the Philippine Statistics Authority said they have no birth records for Guo's parents.
Gatchalian even dared Guo to undergo DNA testing with Wen Yi Lin to prove her nationality.
According to the Senator, Guo’s inconsistencies in her documents would bolster the quo warranto proceedings against her.
