Senator Sherwin Gatchalian believes that the days of Guo Hua Ping, also known as Alice Guo, in Indonesia are numbered following the recent arrest of her sister Sheila Guo, and accomplice Cassandra Li Ong.
In an interview on the program Damdaming Bayan on Friday, Gatchalian raised concerns about how the perpetrators managed to leave the country and reach Indonesia and Malaysia.
He stated that the Senate is investigating whether any government officials were involved in facilitating their escape.
Gatchalian expressed gratitude to the Indonesian government for its swift action in capturing the two suspects, which he believes will now make it easier to apprehend Guo.
According to the Senator, the next hearing will investigate the individuals behind the raided POGO hubs in Bamban, Tarlac, and Porac, Pampanga, as well as the extent of money laundering and the funds used to establish these illegal activities in the country.
Sheila Guo and Ong were apprehended in Indonesia on August 20.
