Oil firms confirmed on Monday that gasoline and diesel prices will shoot up for September’s last full week. The changes will take effect on Tuesday, September 24.

Shell Pilipinas, Seaoil, and Chevron Philippines Inc. or Caltex have announced that ₱1.10 will be added to the cost of every liter of gasoline and ₱0.20 to every liter of diesel. There will be no price adjustment for kerosene. These changes will be effective by 6 AM.

Petro Gazz, PTT Philippines, and Cleanfuel will be implementing the same adjustments but for kerosene, which they do not carry. For the first two, the increase will be effective by 6 AM as well; for Cleanfuel it will begin at 4:01 PM.

Heightened tensions between Israel and Hezbollah and the United States’ plans to slash interest rates have driven up prices, said the Department of Energy (DOE).
