According to RH Ruel Saldico's report, the shooting incident happened at 6 p.m. when the suspect, identified as Gilbert Concepcion, who was supposed to receive a warrant of arrest, exchanged gunfire with authorities.
Concepcion's companion was also reportedly killed and his identity is still unidentified as of the moment.
In a two-page memorandum obtained by DZRH News, Concepcion has standing warrants of arrest for two counts of kidnapping with murder, kidnapping and serious illegal detention, murder, direct assault, and rape.
A report said someone tipped the authorities as Concepcion was listed as the Department of the Interior and Local Government's most wanted person with a monetary reward of P420,000.
The Concepcion Criminal Gang was involved in gun-for-hire, extortion, killings, and robbery incidents operating in Albay, Camarines Sur, and other adjacent areas.
Philippine Regional Office-5 (PRO-5) Director BGen. Andre Dizon told reporters that the killing of Concepcion would help maintain peace and order in the community.
"Malaki ang epekto nito sa peace and order dito kasi napaka-notorious na po niyan ni Gilbert, nangre-rape 'yan ng mga menor de edad ng kung sino ang makursunadahan niya at ng kaniyang mga grupo," he said.
Dizon said the PRO-5 would still monitor Libon, Albay, where the said gang group was based.
