San Miguel Beer coach Jorge Gallent trusts that Jeron Teng will help the squad win the 29th championship of the franchise in the PBA.
"Jeron is a big addition to our team. I'm sure he is going to help us a lot when he goes inside the court," Gallent told reporters on Tuesday, October 24, during the PBA Media Day.
While Gallent assured that Teng will have a chance to suit up for the Beermen, the 55-year old coach added that the two-time UAAP Final Most Valuable Player must 'earn his minutes' in the court.
"I'm sure he is going to play but, you know, he has to earn his minutes. If Jeron keeps playing well, he is going to stay in the court," Gallent vowed.
San Miguel acquired the rights for Teng after the Converge FiberXers decided not to extend the contract of the 29-year old basketball player, and entering free agency.
Teng signed a two-year contract with the Beermen on October 18 in the presence of SMC sports director Alfrancis Chua.
