Gabriela Party-list led the filing of an ethics complaint against Quezon City 4th District Rep. Jesus “Bong” Suntay following his lewd analogy involving actress Anne Curtis during the House hearing about the impeachment complaints lodged against Vice President Sara Duterte.
In a Thursday report by RH 12 Milky Rigonan, Gabriela Party-list Rep. Sarah Elago said that the ethics complaint aims to amplify the appeal to prohibit discrimination and abuse against women and hold offenders accountable.
Apart from the formal filing of the complaint, the House plenary earlier issued the House ethics committee a directive to carry out a probe into the incident and have Suntay respond to the allegations against him.
The complainants include Makabayan Coalition President Liza Masa, Gert Libang of the GABRIELA National Alliance, Fran Reyes of the GABRIELA Youth, and Jacq Ruiz of the Kilusan ng Manggagawang Kababaihan.
