K-pop star G-Dragon of BIGBANG denied accusations about illegal drug use through a statement released by his lawyer on October 27.
According to the singer, he has not taken any drugs, firmly refuting that he is unrelated to any drug use act violation case that was reported in the news.
G-Dragon also stated that he would fully cooperate and do his best during the police investigation.
On Wednesday, it was reported that he was booked without detention by the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
Kwon Jiyong, the singer’s real name, was involved during the police bust into an illegal distribution ring in the Gangnam area, the report said.
Apart from him, “Parasite” actor Lee Sun Kyun was also apprehended for drug offenses in relation to the ring. However, the police denied that G-Dragon and the actor were directly involved, saying that the investigation was being conducted separately.
G-Dragon’s former agency, YG Entertainment, declined to leave a comment on its former artist’s involvement in the controversy as he is no longer part of their management.
