Fuel prices in parts of Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, and nearby provinces continue to stay high, with many gas stations reporting diesel shortages on Monday, March 9.

According to a report by Grace Sansano's report on Dos Por Dos, diesel prices range from ₱67 to ₱82 per liter, while gasoline costs between ₱56 and over ₱68 per liter. In the town of Casiguran, diesel prices have even surged above ₱90 per liter.

Smaller fuel retailers are charging significantly higher prices, prompting consumers to rely on bigger, more established gas stations.

However, many of these stations are also running out of diesel as new deliveries have yet to arrive, according to gas station operators. Some stations have even imposed purchase limits to manage supply.

The Department of Energy has issued reminders urging gas station owners to implement gradual price increases every Tuesday to avoid profiteering. Despite this, no police enforcement has been observed in the affected areas.

The price surge is taking a toll on commuters, particularly jeepney and tricycle drivers, who are directly affected by rising fuel costs caused by conflicts in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, sonstruction sector stakeholders are also feeling the impact, reporting higher prices for steel, cement, and other building materials.
