The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRT) Line 2 will be offering six-day free rides for athletes and delegates of the 63rd Palarong Pambansa.
In a Facebook post, LRT-2's private operator Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced that the libreng sakay will begin on Monday, July 31, and will end on Saturday, August 5.
The libreng sakay will be offered to athletes, coaches and trainers, national and local committee members, volunteers, technical workers, officials, medical staff, and accredited media.
According to LRTA, those who will avail of the free rides will only have to present their valid Palarong Pambansa Identification Card (ID).
The private operator said this initiative is their support for the 2023 Palarong Pambansa that will be held at the Marikina Sports Center Gymnasium
The sports event will showcase "Larong Pinoy" or Indigenous Filipino games such as kadang-kadang, tumbang preso, and patintero.
The participants of the 63rd Palarong Pambansa will be hailing from 17 regions.
Despite the bad weather, Marikina Mayor Marcelino Teodoro said that the opening ceremonies for the Palarong Pambansa will push through on Monday.
