This is it, we can’t wait to rock out with our favorite mother-daughter duo!
The highly anticipated release of Freakier Friday, sequel to the film Freaky Friday, is set for a theatrical release in August 2025, Disney confirmed through their social media pages.
Prior to its filming, it was revealed that the original duo, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, are returning 22 years after the release of the beloved Disney comedy film.
Its sequel is also loaded with returning cast members like: Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao.
Along with the returning stars, new additions to the cast members were also revealed, with one of them being Manny Jacinto.
FIlming for the sequel wrapped up earlier this year, which left fans hanging on its official release date. Now, an official release date has been set, along with the movie's first look.
On Saturday, October 12, Disney uploaded a photo showing two shocked Colemans when they first swapped bodies; A little reference to the first movie's iconic scene when Jamie Lee uttered, “I'm like the crypt keeper!”

However, it is unclear whether the photo is just a nod to the first film, or if it is actually included in the sequel.
According to Disney, Freakier Friday’s story picks up years after Tess (Lee) and Anna (Lohan) endured an identity crisis.
“Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice,” the sequel's plot synopsis read.
