Frankie Pangilinan divulged that her father, Senator-elect Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan’s daughter, initially planned to step back from politics if he did not make the Magic 12 cut. With over 15 million votes securing him the top 5 spot, Frankie has extended her gratitude to supporters.

“Kanina lang sabi ni dad handa na daw syang magpahinga tas sabi ni Lord wag muna,” she shared on X.

She followed up with: “Di talaga ako makapaniwala guys 8 hrs ago lang pinaguusapan na namin mga backup plan na ni sir,” before she tweeted her thanks.

Pangilinan also revealed a throwback picture of herself between her father and his ally, Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV, who landed at #2 in the partial, unofficial election results.

When encouraged to run for a government seat in the future, she gracefully responded she did not approve of political dynasties, implying she would not take part in one.

Earlier, her father also expressed disbelief at and thankfulness for the unofficial vote count. According to DZRH Desisyon 2025, he won 15,083,621 votes, placing him just below Erwin Tulfo.

“Sabi ko nga unang nakita ko ang balita, about 7:30-7:45 lumabas na ang initial number, 5 na ako. Sabi ko ‘Teka, sa dami ng binato sa aking fake news, hindi kaya fake news na naman ito?’” the elder Pangilinan said on Damdaming Bayan.
