Leaders of Filipino Muslim communities from Rizal and Cavite provinces gathered in Makati City on November 25 to express their support for the FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist during a sectoral consultation meeting.
Brian Poe, First Nominee of FPJ Panday Bayanihan, engaged with the leaders to better understand the needs and priorities of the Muslim population in these provinces. The discussion highlighted pressing issues, including the lack of adequate burial facilities, limited access to legal and medical assistance, and the need for greater cultural and financial support for Madrasah teachers.
Representatives from various organizations, including the Rizal Muslim Consultative Council (MCC), Cainta Muslim Affairs Office, Salaam Police Advocacy Group (SPAG), and United Cavite Muslim Communities, participated in the event. They emphasized the importance of equal distribution of government programs like Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) and Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD).
The strengthening of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos and the establishment of local consultative councils in areas with significant Muslim populations were also key recommendations.
"If we want our nation and economy to thrive, no Filipino should be left behind, regardless of their status or religion. We must uplift the lives of every Filipino and provide equal opportunities for all," Poe said during the consultation.
Poe reaffirmed FPJ Panday Bayanihan’s commitment to addressing these challenges, citing the party’s longstanding efforts to support Filipino families through programs focused on food, progress, and justice.
